Our Mission
Light Many Fires exists to help the exhausted majority reclaim their role as citizens—by transforming frustration into purpose, isolation into connection, and small acts of participation into sources of democratic renewal.

Light Many Fires is a civic renewal project with two integrated components: a book and a learning experience.

Together, the book and learning experience help transform frustration into purpose, isolation into connection, and small acts of participation into sources of democratic renewal.
Projects
Dialogues For Democracy
We conduct free, professionally facilitated experiences for large and small groups that enable participants give a voice to their frustration with our politics but, more importantly, empower them to do something to improve things in a way that fits their time and lifestyle.

Neighbors For Democracy
We sponsor a monthly meeting of neighbors in the Main Line area of Philadelphia.
Neighbors for Democracy exists to strengthen democratic life by bringing neighbors together to learn, reflect, and act. Through public talks and conversations with journalists, scholars, and civic leaders, we deepen understanding of the forces shaping our democracy and encourage informed, constructive engagement in public life.
Listening and learning matter—but they are only a beginning. At each gathering, we reflect together on how new insights might translate into action.
